Make equipment status
understandable during work.
Factory workers needed useful information about proximity and status around production equipment. The challenge was to connect that information with a feedback method and device form that could fit into everyday factory activity.
Connect the technical idea
with the working context.
I used field observations to frame the opportunities and design principles, then examined wearable forms, feedback methods and use scenarios together.
The concept proposed radio-frequency triangulation for proximity information. I used illustrated scenarios to make the relationship between that technical idea, visual and audio cues, and worker interaction available for review.
A wearable proposal
with defined use scenarios.
The work produced a neck-worn device concept, controls, feedback states and illustrated factory-use scenarios.
These outputs provided a basis for reviewing the proposed form and interaction before further development and validation.
Selected evidence
Field observations, findings and wearable concepts for communicating proximity around production equipment.
